Focusing on a specific area you know very well will help you bring out your best without much risks and effort. You can add a personal touch to your site and give your visitors who are possible buyers an impression that you are an expert in your field. In this way, you gain their trust and eventually encourage them to buy the products you endorse. Some will even give you the cash upfront or a credit receipt for other items if you already shop  there. I find the shops fantastic for toys in our dayhome.

The Internet is awesome for turning junk into cash and of course if you have some knowledge of Ebay, that can be a fantastic way to turn a significant profit, in fact, many people make a full time living doing it!  Some other sites that have become extremely popular are Craigslist and Kijiji. A have lots of mommy friends who have bought some great children’s items like highchairs, games, puzzles and a friend actually found her most recent car on Kijiji.

No offense, I love jokes and love to laugh, but the joke could have been on me because the one thing about working for yourself is you can’t call in sick. Ooops, did someone forget to tell you that?

Yes, in the last 48 hours I have had probably a total of 4 or 5 hours worth of sleep because both of my little ones have been sick, gotten me sick and kept me up all night worrying about them. I am to the point of being a little deficient on the thinking scale, but when you run a business and people are depending on you, you can’t call in sick. Thank goodness though for business partners, Brad helped out the first half of the day and my other business partner was here for the last half. Phew, I made it.

Have you taken your business seriously enough to be there for it day in and day out, though the good and bad? Are you making the most of your time and yourself by working successfully with other business partners?

These are questions you need to ask yourself if you believe yourself to be a serious entrepreneur or the joke will be on you.

Many of us attempt to write like salesmen/women when we aren’t. That’s just plain stupid isn’t it? Who wants to read constant pitches that aren’t relating to any of us, not appealing to our human emotions or our perspectives? We often get so caught up in talking about our “program” or “product” that we forget about what makes us human, what makes us different and unique.

“To walk in someone else’s shoes” and understand the psychology of human behavior is actually much easier than many of us believe. In fact, most of us are doing it everyday. How else would we deal with our spouses and their little quirks that often drive us crazy like never changing the toilet paper roll or gulping down all of the coffee before you get through your first cup? arrggh.

When we aren’t understanding others in our copy we are discounting a huge mass of people.  As John says in his post, “The challenge, as a marketer, is to suck up your distaste for people who don’t share your worldview and be a chameleon.” Take his challenge and let me know what you learned.
